Ariella Uliano - A.U. (almost) a Compilation

Once again, Ariella Uliano offers us a breathtaking and original album, perhaps her best to date. Ariella's A.U. (almost) a Compilation is an unusual and inspired mix of modern material and more familiar ballads performed with a pure and unaffected soprano voice and accompanied by rich orchestral arrangements.

There is a sense of spirituality, love and introspection in Ms. Uliano’s songs. Many the gems in this collection but two in particular are in my opinion outstanding: Walter Scott's Ellen's Third Song (from: The Lady Of The Lake - Hymn To The Virgin, for most of us Schubert’s Ave Maria), and Child’s ballad The Three Ravens (new version).

Non Parlar Troppo D’Amore and Canto D’Autunno are autobiographical. They are sung in Italian and here Ariella's voice is incredibly beautiful.

A special mention also goes to Untitled live - recorded in Rome with guitarist Osamu Yano and vocalist Renzo Frontoni - and Good Morning London, a song complemented by a music video shot entirely on location in London. The single Good Morning London has already won two song contests in the UK and USA.

Ariella and her diverse ensemble of instrumentalists have also created new arrangements for her hit ballads: the spectacular So, We'll Go No More A-Roving by Byron and In The Bleak Midwinter by Christina Rossetti together with the Celtic classics Skye Boat Song and Salley Gardens are among my favourite tracks on this album. Ariella's style is unique and inspirational!

Ariella Uliano has also released a special edition of A.U. (almost) a Compilation with an accompanying 32 pages A5 size book: an elegant portfolio featuring some of her B/W artwork and colour photographs inspired by the poetry in the songs.

Ariella Uliano's A.U. (almost) a Compilation showcases the singer's great vocal range and the talent of the virtuoso musicians accompanying her. Ariella's public appearances are rare as she prefers to work behind the scenes in the studio with her band. She also paints, dances and travels. She lives a relatively secluded life so her albums and videos are a unique opportunity for her fans to enjoy Ariella's fantastic world of stunning images and spellbinding sounds.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Last but not least, A.U. (almost) a Compilation  is a must-have album for folk collectors.                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Publisher

Ariella Uliano - Leave Only Your Footsteps Behind

Bonus track: Untitled, introducing Renzo Frontoni & Osamu Yano

In Leave Only Your Footsteps Behind Ariella performs original songs and more traditional material with virtuoso instrumentalists from Italy, Austria, Japan, England and Ireland. Leave Only Your Footsteps Behind features enchanting vocals, haunting melodies and rich arrangements to reflect the diverse backgrounds and styles of the artists involved: from classical to country and jazzy, and even a fine example of slow rock, with the last track of the album sung by a male singer from the band and played by guitarist Osamu Yano. The single Leave Only Your Footsteps Behind also features bluesman Will Killeen on guitars and banjo.

An eclectic and very elegantly presented artistic product: Ariella Uliano's Leave Only Your Footsteps Behind is Collage music at its best!

Ariella Uliano - Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare

Ariella Uliano's Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare (My Lady Looks So Gentle And So Pure) embraces and links together the tradition of Celtic and English ballads and tunes with the poetry of Medieval and Renaissance Italy. The ancient songs, melodies and words on this album speak of love, the arrival of the warm and sunny season and the joys and pleasures of youth. Ariella's Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare also features Medieval poetry by Dante Alighieri from The Divine Comedy - the Poet's meeting with Paolo & Francesca - and Vita Nova (New Life) dedicated to Beatrice; works by the Italian Renaissance poet Gaspara Stampa, and words by Lorenzo De' Medici and his tutor and humanist Angelo Poliziano. In Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare the poems are set to traditional tunes and original melodies by Ariella Uliano, and the arrangements range from classical and modern to avant-garde. The singles Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare and Sumer from the album Tanto Gentile E Tanto Onesta Pare are complemented by two music videos available in DVD.
